How safe is Pittsburgh?

I'm from Philadelphia, but I recently moved to Pittsburgh for school :) I'm in a house a little bit off campus, but its still considered in Oakland. My street is a mix of residential and some college students, and obviously an urban setting. I'm pretty use to the city, but I just wanted to know, how safe is Pittsburgh?
