Did the Allies and Jews lie about the Holocaust?

i met a jewish lady at the toronto holocaust centre..and her story was something like that of anne frank...and generally...i don't think they lied...i mean if adolf hitler didn't do something that he knew he would be executed and shunned by the public....then he wouldn't have killed himself..right?..he would have stayed and defend himself right?
